Yesterday was a historic day. As leading advocates for home ownership and real estate issues, thousands of us stood shoulder to shoulder in a REALTOR® sea of blue at the foot of the Washington Monument to make our voices heard.

In his pre-rally warm-up last week, NAR President Moe Veissi testified on Capitol Hill urging reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program, which is set to expire on May 31.

The Downtown Living Tour, in its 6th year, will showcase a wide variety of residential spaces as well as some of downtown's cultural venues!

Mandatory Ethics Training - The list you don't want to be on!
The current NAR ethics cycle began on January 1, 2009 and ends on December 31, 2012. All NAR members are required to complete a minimum of 2.5 hours of REALTOR® Code of Ethics training during each four year cycle. If you have not yet completed your ethics training, consider attending one (or more) GSAR classes that fulfill this requirement:

Mandatory Ethics & Local Association Training- June 6, August 2, October 10, November 27.
If you completed your ethics training through a school other than GSAR, please submit the course completion certificate to us: fax to 457-5884 or email to email@example.com.

The Everything You Need to Know About... courses examine environmental issues raised in the purchase and sale of homes. Stephen focuses on the types of inspections available, any governmental regulations or guidelines for these inspections and strategies for identifying the need for them early and communicating them to the purchasers and sellers. Class discussion will include where these substances are commonly found as well as exposure pathways.
The 45 Hour Broker Qualifying Course begins October 9th. If you took the 45 hour salesperson course, you will have to complete a 30 hour remedial course in addition to the 45 hour broker course in order to apply for the broker license. When acting as listing brokers, Realtors® shall continue to submit to the seller/landlord all offers and counter-offers until closing or execution of a lease unless the seller/landlord has waived this obligation in writing. Realtors® shall not be obligated to continue to market the property after an offer has been accepted by the seller/landlord. Realtors® shall recommend that sellers/landlords obtain the advice of legal counsel prior to acceptance of a subsequent offer except where the acceptance is contingent on the termination of the pre-existing purchase contract or lease.
